Nashua Public Library
The Nashua Public Library was established to serve the basic informational, educational, and recreational reading, listening and viewing needs to the Nashua-area community. The Nashua Public Library is accredited with the State Library of Iowa. 9:30-ll:30 a.m.; 1-8 p.m.; Story Hour:
10-11 a.m. (3 years of age and up) The Library is closed: New Yearıs Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Yearıs Eve. Library Collections: Books: approximately 15,000 books, popular and practical topics in non-fiction and classic and contemporary fiction. Large Print: There are over 400 large print fiction and non-fiction books in both hard and soft cover, owned by the library. To supplement the large-print collection, the Decorah Public Library lends additional large-print books to the Nashua Public Library on a monthly rotation. Audio Visual: The Decorah Public Library provides a limited selection of books on tape to Nashua. Interlibrary Loan: The Nashua Library staff can assist patrons in borrowing materials not available locally through the interlibrary loan system. Services Available:
Public Use Facilities and Equipment: Community meeting rooms are available to the public and located in the historic Carnegie Library. Contact the information desk to reserve a room. Borrowing Information: Patrons may obtain a free library card at the Circulation
Desk. Books, audio cassettes
and magazines are checked out for two weeks, with 2 week renewals; video
cassettes are checked out overnight, with a 50 cent fee per video. |
